School Counselor

Counseling Program:

The School Counseling Program at Spring City Elementary School is available to help students, parents, and teachers develop positive learning experiences. The program consists of a variety of services and activities, including individual and group counseling, parent and teacher consultation, group guidance, information services, referral assistance to other agencies in the community and student assessment. The school counselor works to ensure the success of all students in the school.

Primary services of the school counselor provide direct assistance to students in the school For this reason, a major portion of the counselor's day consists of responsive services that help students with their academic, personal, and social development.

The school counselor is a licensed professional with a master's degree or higher in school counseling. They have training in human development, learning theory, counseling and consulting, tests and measurement, career development, educational and related research, and other areas appropriate to the practice of counseling in a school.

Individual guidance is available to all students. If a student needs guidance, he or she can refer him/herself, a teacher can refer a student, or parents or guardians can request this service. I will work with students to find solutions that will overcome barriers to student success.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Spring City Elementary School Counseling Program is to maximize the potential of all students by providing a comprehensive guidance program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.
